He must hold firm to the trustworthy word as taught, so that he may
be able to give instruction in sound (healthy) doctrine and also to
rebuke (shine the light of TRUTH on) those who contradict it. Titus 1:9.
This
is the Apostle Paul's instruction regarding the qualifications for a
man to serve as an Elder in the body of Christ. This is necessary
because since day 1 there have been those who teach heretical and
apostate principles to God's people as though what they teach is the
TRUTH.
There is such a movement alive and well
in Cullman County. It is known as the 'Speak Life' movement. Their
premise is base upon Romans 4:17 . . . 'Who gives life to the dead and
calls into existence the things that do not exist.' Sound interpretive
exegesis makes it profoundly clear that this is referring to God, NOT
NOT NOT a Christian believer. Only God has this power and it is corrupt
to assign this power to a believer. It is twisting and distorting the
text of Scripture which demands a rebuke (the light of TRUTH to be
focused on this corruption).
This practice is
embraced by a entire cadre of people teaching false doctrine; Kenneth
Copeland, Creflo Dollar, Joel Osteen, Joyce Meyer, etc. DO NOT be
deceived. Flee this corruption. These people embrace a whole host of
apostate principles. Joyce Meyer declares that Jesus ceased to be the
Son of God while he was on the cross. If this is true then there is no
redemption.
I declare these things to honor
the office and responsibility of the office of Elder/Pastor/Teacher
which God has graciously enabled me to fill for 47 years. I stand ready
to exegetically substantiate these TRUTHS for any and all that may
choose to examine the text of Scripture on these claims.
